QRIS :: Yolo Raising Quality Together
Yolo County’s Raising Quality Together Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) is a combined effort between City of West Sacramento, implementing the IMPACT and UP4WS grants, and Yolo County Office of Education, implementing the California State Preschool Program (CSPP) QRIS and Infant Toddler QRIS Block Grants. Currently, in our county we are serving 97 sites, providing them training, coaching, and other quality improvement efforts, and 34 have, or are in the process of receiving, a rating on the QRIS matrix. Our county QRIS has five levels and does not vary from the California statewide QRIS in any section. All programs participating in Raising Quality Together are eligible to receive up to $600 in stipends for attending training, to improve the quality of their program, and coaching, plus a materials and supplies stipend if they receive assessments in order to be placed on the QRIS matrix. Coaching, training, and technical assistance are offered by our Early Learning Specialists on an as-needed basis to all sites.

A Teacher shared: QRIS has given me the ability to have my coach observe, and then together we look at ways to improve my teaching practices and classroom environment. I am gaining experience to maintain fidelity to curriculum and my children’s successful development.
