County Program Profile: Imperial

The QCC County Program Profile provides county data from the Common Data File (CDF) and the Annual Progress Report (APR). For counties that are a part of a consortium, the QCC County Program Profile provides a combined view of the CDF and APR. Both qualitative and quantitative data are presented to provide a local view of early learning and care climate.

QRIS :: Quality Start Imperial

Imperial County’s voluntary Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS), First 5 IMPACT Strategic Partnership, serves programs in Imperial County and is administered by First 5 Imperial. Since the latter part of 2015–2016, more than 23 sites are at various levels of rating and are currently receiving support to improve quality. First 5 IMPACT Strategic Partnership measures several elements of the program quality that include:

  1. Child Development and School Readiness
  2. Teachers and Teaching
  3. Program and Environment

All our sites are eligible for this support, and a solid relationship with our partners and sites makes it easier to provide targeted services.

Process to Outreach/Onboard Programs and Providers

We are very active in our communities. We conduct health fairs on elementary schools’ campuses that help us with disseminating information. We reach out to pediatricians to participate by visiting them and introducing our work.

Quality Improvement Program Support Strategies

We support and encourage educators to attend trainings and return to school for a bachelor’s degree. Coaching staff meet on a regular basis to review work, work load, and services needed.

Local Approach to Offering Financial Incentives and Stipends

We provide three types of incentives: (1) materials for the family child care homes and center-based care, (2) a tuition stipend of $500.00 for 9 units earned at an accredited university, and (3) a stipend of $30.00 for each training attended, up to 10 trainings for a total of $300.00
